[INFOGRAPHIC] Where does Las Vegas Get Its Water?

As one of the top plumbing companies in Las Vegas, we know a thing or two about water and decided to do a little research to learn a little more. We wanted to answer the age old adage, “Where does Las Vegas Get Its Water?

We’ve compiled our research, with special thanks to some of our sources including the Las Vegas Sun, The Economist, Las Vegas Valley Water District and more!

As a plumber, we want to touch on one of the points before jumping into the infographic… you should always find and fix leaks, perhaps even consider repiping. The Las Vegas Valley Water District compiled a guide on finding and fixing leaks, and we just wanted to give you a couple additional tips:

Your Water Softener – The LVVWD says, “Most softeners have a bypass lever. Turn the lever to allow water to bypass the softener. Check the flow indicator at the meter. If the flow indicator is no longer moving, you have isolated the leak to your softener.” You should always call a licensed plumber when approaching your water heater or softener, the wrong move could lead to disastrous results. See our page on water softeners for more details.
